For us to be different something needs to be different, and yet we fight to stay the same because it is what we know, it makes us feel safe. We know that differences come from something changing but it is often hard to pin point, acknowledge and trust what it is that needs to be changed to create the difference.
Einstein said “we can not solve problems with the same thinking that we used when we created them”
This is true. Often we believe that something ‘big’ needs to be different or we need to do a lot of different things to create the differences we aspire to, but it can take something smaller to begin the snowball of ‘being different’ or ‘creating difference’ Are you following??
We commonly think that we want lots of different things to change but when we dig deeper it might be one perception or behaviour or acknowledgement that in fact needs to shift.
Creating the space to think differently doesn’t always need to be achieved through a coaching session, it can be by consciously approaching something differently so that you gain a different perspective which allows the insights to flood in. It can be learning something new which takes your attention away from what you know and refocusing on this new skill/task that allows a different approach to formulate. Trying a different brand and being mindful of what the differences are and how they benefit or impede their desired outcome can be something to create a difference.
There are so many many ways to do something different approached with a small step first and with awareness that can impact our self awareness, insight and perspective to further apply in other areas of your lives.
