There is a specific kind of courage that separates extraordinary leaders from the rest.

They look at what is emerging in their industry and they become students of it. They look at skills they do not have and they commit to learning them. They look at problems they do not know how to solve and they become curious about them instead of defensive.
They are willing to be terrible at these new things at first.
This is where most leaders get stuck, they have built an identity around being competent. Knowing things. Having the answers, and the thought of being in a room where they do not know what is happening is so uncomfortable that they would rather not go into that room at all.
Transformation requires being willing to be a beginner stepping into territory where your expertise does not transfer. To learn things that your years of experience have not taught you.
