Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
If you are reading this in your downtime great, if you are still working like me, I hope things are a little slower than usual.
This time of year for those that celebrate one belief or another can find it a rollercoaster of emotions. The lead up to have everything organised at home and at work so that the time off can be taken. But also there are so many engagements with people that you do and don’t like and that do and don’t like you. But for the season of ‘jolliness’, we put it all aside!! Well, we hope people do.
I guess the thing to remember is, what works for one does not work for others, and we need to be ok with that.
We have had a year that has not been anything short of a rollercoaster, so the craziness of this time of year is not even a fraction of what we have endured throughout the year. With that in mind, it didn’t matter who and what was going on over the week or so or the exhaustion and emotions that run with trying to do 6000x more than you do at any other time of year, it failed in comparison to the rest of the year. So really it is all about perspective and boundaries. Do what you can, say no to what you can’t and remember other peoples actions say more about them than you!
What do you need to gain perspective on?
Sailing on into 2019 creates all sorts of hopes and fears for different people with different things going on. And while at times people feel alone with what they are experiencing sometimes a different perspective, a different way of dealing with things or just talking to different people can open up a whole new world of opportunity.
So, learning from 2018 and letting this crazy time of year slip by with a smile or a wry smile (whatever works for you) will put you in a great spot for starting 2019.
Enjoy the rest of 2018!!!
