When was the last time you were in a state of flow?
What activities are you participating in when you are in a flow state? The activities can be different for everyone, they can be a creative pursuit, it can be your work, sport or physical activity, movement, music, sitting outside, having a cup of tea, writing.
This flow state is all about being lost in time and space, it is effortless and timeless, it almost feels like everything is in sync and has come together at the right time. It sounds romantic, and quite often we can struggle to find the time, the activities, the interests that allow us to move into this state.
Often people report there are actions that they take in an aim to reach a state of flow, some of these actions may include, but are not limited to:
- Working towards a goal that they are passionate about.
- The right amount of task difficulty and ability.
- No interruptions/scheduled time.
- Planning (to allow for this state to appear).
- Chosen activity/task that interests and challenges.
Studies show that being able to access this flow state improves our wellbeing. What do you do to increase the likelihood of reaching a state of flow? And what are you going to do today to improve your wellbeing?
Have a great day.
