COVID-19 has certainly turned the world on its head from a health and economic point of view.
Not everyone is at home, not everyone is financially ok, not everyone is the same boat, everyone, however, needs to be patient and understanding of themselves and others during this time, but if we are to look for what the positives are for some this can help.
For us the slower pace is certainly one that I couldn’t have imagined being a bonus, even when technology for us has been extremely stressful. Not having to be in so many different places at once (well that is what it seems like), the day normally starts at 5 and finishes at 9:30 that is the life we knew no different from, with very little socialising unless it is related to work or kids activities. This is not the case at the moment and it has definitely made me think, what were we doing? what do we want? and what have we been missing out on without the time to stop and review?
There are so many answers to these questions which is extremely scary, we were running the rat race and thinking we weren’t! Very sad eye opener.
We are lucky enough to live near the beach and I bumped into 3 different people this morning on a walk and swim before work and school – online learning (we never have that type of time to appreciate the very place that we live) and we all had the same things to say:
- We have time with our kids
- We have time to do things that we enjoy
- We have time to change the things we don’t like
- Given life will resume, what do we want to change
- How beautiful are some of the things that we took for granted
While COVID-19 is a world health and economic disaster there has been a silver lining if you are willing to look for it.
Enjoy your day.
